Large, exceptionally sweet yellow onion developed by Texas A&M University. Named for optimal seed planting date of October 15th. Short-day variety — bulbs form when daylight is 10-12 hours, best suited for southern zones (7-9). Softball-sized bulbs 4-5" diameter, ~1 lb. Stores 2-3 months. Official Texas State Vegetable.
