Watermelon Radish
Brassicaceae
NOT a standard spring radish — the app MUST treat differently. Daikon-type winter/storage radish. 50-65 DTM (2-3× longer than spring radishes). White-green skin with stunning pink-red interior. Best as FALL CROP — spring plantings frequently bolt before roots size up. Turnip-sized (3-4 inch diameter). Mild, slightly peppery flavor that MELLOWS with maturity (opposite of spring radishes). Can hold in ground after maturity in cool weather without becoming pithy.
